It’s all connected.

That has been the mantra for the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe since the very beginning when Nick Fury revealed that Tony Stark had “become part of a bigger universe.” With 10 years under their belt, Marvel Studios is showing no signs of slowing down their game-changing continuity in their films.

Avengers: Infinity War is being marketed as the epic culmination of the films that have been released so far. However, shortly following the release of the third Avengers film, Ant-Man and The Wasp will be leading their own story and The Russo Brothers, the co-directors of the epic cinematic event, have recently revealed that the pint-sized sequel will feature some direct tie-ins to their own film.

They all lead in in their own way, I think. As far as plot elements that actually drive towards the story, again, I think Marvel does a great job of segmenting the movies so that you can have your own experience in each film. I think from a plot standpoint, if there’s any corollary, Ant-Man 2 probably has some elements that stitch in.

One of the most intriguing things regarding the recent slate of MCU films is that they have stood alone as their own stories. With the exception of an end-credits scene of Thor: Ragnarok, nothing has really stood out as to a major connection to the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Ant-Man & The Wasp will be released in-between the third and fourth Avengers movies but will seemingly take place immediately following the events of Captain America: Civil War.

It will indeed be interesting to see just how the Paul Rudd film connects to the biggest superhero film of all time.
