Sebastian Stan is all for making a Bucky Spinoff movie with costar Anthony Mackie, or as we know him on screen, Falcon. We were first introduced to Bucky when he played Steve Rogers’ buddy in Captain America: The First Avenger. What seemed like such a small role, would soon expand all the way into some of Marvel’s biggest projects.

It wouldn’t be until the Russo brothers bring him back as the Winter Soldier in Captain America: The Winter Soldier three years later, which is when we also meet Sam, who becomes Falcon. Regarded as one of the best films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this can be partially credited to Stan’s amazing performance as the antagonist for a majority of the movie. Since then, we’ve become quite familiar with his character and the relationship between him and Rogers. We’d get to see them reunite again in the third part of Captain America’s trilogy, and this is when we see Bucky’s banter with Falcon. The two have developed a very special friendship, if that’s even the proper word for it.

Next month we’ll get to see the two of them back on screen together which means we’re probably in for a good laugh. Entertainment Tonight scored an interview with Sebastian Stan where the prospect of a spinoff film was brought up. When asked, Stan said he would absolutely do it. He then went on to say the following:

We absolutely can. Absolutely. I mean, the right people to make that happen are certainly within feet from us right now… To me, it’s like Martin Brest film classic, Midnight Run, you know. It’s really just sort of in my head, like, 48 hours or a buddy comedy from the ’80s or the ’90s. That’s how I see it.

Now we know we’re not alone in our fondness for their relationship! Even Stan sees it as a special thing, which just gets us that much closer to a spinoff. Just imagine the duo together on their own!
