Fans are hungry for the next installment in the MCU, Avengers: Infinity War. But as we all know, the train doesn’t stop there. Only a couple months after the third Avengers film, Marvel Studios will be releasing Ant-Man and The Wasp and next March, Captain Marvel will have premiere her first solo outing. Both films feature characters who do not feature prominently or at all in Avengers: Infinity War but are also what will tide fans over for a year.
Talking with the Toronto Sun, the writer’s of both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 spoke of the collaboration between the writer’s of the four films releasing within the next two years.
“We made very small requests of these movies saying, ‘It would be great if this person were still standing at the end of your movie. We’re relying – we will rely on – those two movies to help tell the story between Infinity War and Avengers 4.”
The use of the word rely hints at a strong connection, perhaps stronger than fans had initially thought. Captain Marvel is of course going to act in space during her movie, but what about Ant-Man and The Wasp? Will their story take place after the events of Infinity War or before? Will they be tasked with helping in a direct way? Will either movie involve the Soul Stone?
