The Death of Superman is one of the most famous and commercially successful comic events of all time. It laid the ground work for comic writers to take more risks and not be afraid to write more heart-wrenching stories where the good guys don’t always win.
Warner Bros Animation is now adapting the iconic event into a two-part film and has announced an all-star cast to voice the roles of the famous DC characters. Among DC Universe Animated Movies veterans Jason O’Mara, Rosario Dawson, and Nathan Fillion (reprising their roles as Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern respectively), Rainn Wilson, most known for his role as Dwight Schrute in NBC’s ‘The Office’ is making the jump into the DC Universe to voice the role Dwight probably idolized, Lex Luthor.
Also joining the cast is Christian Slater as Deadshot and Rebecca Romijn as Lois Lane.
At San Diego Comic Con 2017, Warner Bros. stated that this two part film with conclude with Reign of the Supermen, expected to be out next year. Warner Bros. also promised that the film would be more comic accurate than the animated film from 2007 Superman: Doomsday, which loosely adapted the comic events but left out a slew of moments that left fans wanting more.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the animated Justice League movies/ Will Rainn Wilson make a convincing Lex Luthor? Let us know in the comments below and @superbromovies.
