Monday was off to a good start. The CW Network handed down renewals to 10 of their shows on TV. The following shows that will return next season are:

Arrow– 7th season

Black Lightning– 2nd season

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend- 4th season (and possibly last one)

Legends of Tomorrow- 4th season

Dynasty– 2nd season

The Flash- 5th season

Jane the Virgin- 5th season

Riverdale- 3rd season

Supergirl– 4th season (3rd season on the CW; the 1st season was on CBS)

Supernatural– 14th season

Black Lightning on CW

Majority of these renewals have performed strong ratings, not only on the network, but have also benefited from the streaming services with the likes of Amazon, Hulu, and Netflix. The CW network will add a sixth day of programming beginning next season in October.

In an announcement by CW Network President Mark Pedrowitz on the 10 shows’ renewal:

“As The CW expands to a six-night, Sunday-through-Friday schedule next season, we are proud to have such a deep bench of great returning series for 2018-19. By picking these 10 series up for next season, we have a terrific selection of programming to choose from when we set our fall schedule in May, with more still to come! I’m especially happy that we’ll continue to work with the incredibly talented casts, producers, and writers who create the series our fans are so passionate about.”

There are four shows that are still on the bubble of whether they will be renewed or not:

The 100– about to start its 5th season (April 24th)

iZombie- currently in its 4th season

Life Sentence- currently in its 1st season

Valor- currently in its 1st season

The 100, which will begin their 5th season on April 24th, is the last series of the lineup yet to air this season. I expect the show to do well and return for its sixth season, considering the huge fanbase for the show. iZombie, another popular show among the fans, is hopeful to return. With a sixth day confirmed for the programming on the CW Network, it is possible the fourth-year show will return for another season. The same cannot be said for the freshmen shows, Life Sentence and Valor.
