‘CREED II’ Begins Production In Philadelphia

With the critical and commercial success of Creed, it was inevitable that a sequel would be underway. It turns out that in addition to Creed II being greenlit, it has also now begun production. A few days ago, Sylvester Stallone released an announcement on his Instagram stating that not only has production for the film commenced but that it has also started shooting in Philadelphia, the area in which the Rocky films have been set.

The announcement is in the form of a behind-the-scenes video where Stallone addresses the audience in front of his trailer. Although he reveals the shooting location, not much else is revealed in the video. This extends to the fact that neither the actual set nor the other cast members are shown. The full video can be seen below:

Stallone, Michael B. Jordan, and Tessa Thompson will reprise their roles from its predecessor, while Dolph Lundgren will make his return to the Rocky series as Ivan Drago nearly three decades after his appearance in Rocky IV. Steven Caple Jr. will take over directing duties as Creed‘s director, Ryan Coogler, was occupied with directing Black Panther. However, Coogler remains as one of the film’s executive producers.
