Doug Liman’s CHAOS WALKING, A film adaptation of the successful YA Novel of the same name, is said to undergo some extensive reshoots, according to a new exclusive from THR. The Author of the Novel, Patrick Ness, is said to be in talks to write some new pages for the script as well.
THR also points out that, due to scheduling conflicts with the films stars Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland (Shooting Sequels to Star Wars and Homecoming respectively), Lionsgate may have to push back the release date for the film, which is still slated for release on March 1st, 2019. However, that may no longer be the case due to the nature of the reshoots, which are to last two to three weeks.
Patrick Ness, the author of the Novel that the film is based off of, is also in negotiations to write script pages for the planned reshoots as well. Major reshoots for big budget films such as these are slowly becoming the norm in Hollywood, with Marvel films as well as Star Wars have undergone their fair share of reshoots to better fit the story they are trying to tell. The possible delay in release date and extensive reshoots should not be worrying for the film, as the main reason the release date would be pushed back is due to the popularity and hefty schedule that actors such as Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley have.
