Female led superhero films have been in high demand since the release of Wonder Woman. With announcements relating to a solo Black Widow film and the production of Captain Marvel, it was inevitable for there to be questions regarding a Scarlet Witch solo movie. However, Scarlet Witch actor Elizabeth Olsen does not have any plans on making that happen.
She was recently on Danny Pellegrino’s podcast where she was asked if there were any sort of ideas being tossed around for Scarlet Witch movie. She was quick to point out that no such thing is happening. She never states that she isn’t opposed to it, but that she definitely isn’t pushing for it to happen. Check out the full quote below:
We are at ground zero. It’s definitely not something I’m pushing. I don’t know if it’s something they’re going to push either. [Avengers costar] Paul Bettany and I joke about having a domestic television show on Netflix or something. It would just be like a house event, where Scarlet Witch goes bananas. That’s what we joke about, but I don’t think either of those things are happening. I’m happy I’m still around and they still use me.
We first got to see her in action with the release of the Avengers: Age of Ultron, where she was teamed up with her twin, Quicksilver. His death is what propelled her into becoming an Avenger, and she has proven that she has what it takes. We’ll get to see her in action again this month, this time against Thanos and his army.
