Luke Cage will begin its second season on Netflix in June, but in the meantime here are some behind the scenes photos to help get you excited for the new season.
In the first photo and the featured image, we see Luke Cage, played by Mike Colter, meeting up with Danny Rand, played by Finn Jones, also known as the Immortal Iron Fist. It is rumored that Cage might have asked to meet up Rand to help him understand his powers more. As Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker has hinted, “Danny Rand will help Luke channel his chi.”
We get our first look at Mustafa Shakir as the villain, Bushmaster. In this shot, it is possible that this could be the origin story before he becomes the villain mantle he was destined to take on.
We see the return of Theo Rossi as Shades and Alfre Woodward as Mariah Dillard for season 2. In this shot, it seems that they are getting intimate and possibly expressing their feelings for each other. I think it’s more realistic that Shades could be trying to reassure her that whatever they have planned possibly for Cage, it’s the right thing to do if they want to take back control of Harlem. We could see them waiting for the right moment to pounce on an opportunity that affects Cage.
In this shot, it looks Misty Knight, played Simone Missick, is back in action as Detective with a new robotic arm. Knight lost her arm in The Defenders when the Hand villain, Bakuto, cut it off. That robotic hand looks really cool and it will be really interesting to see what Knight will do with it when crime comes knocking on her door.
Here is Luke Cage fighting with a group of bad guys that could possibly be working for Bushmaster (Shakir) and/or Nightshade played by Gabrielle Dennis (both not pictured). Looks like Cage has a handful to deal with in order to find what he’s looking for.
Actor Mike Colter enjoying getting some tips from showrunner Coker, on how to make Luke Cage look good while filming. If Colter is enjoying filming, it is possible that season 2 of Luke Cage might be the best yet for the Power Man.
Don’t worry, Claire Temple fans, Rosario Dawson returns for season 2 and will continue the romance that was formed during season 1. Claire will continue to give smart advice that will help Luke handle as a superhero.
