Tim Miller’s ‘TERMINATOR’ Has Release Date Pushed Back

The next Terminator has had its release date moved from the original date of July 26, 2019, to November 22, 2019. This news comes directly from Paramount Pictures. The film has not been titled yet, but Tim Miller (Deadpool) will be directing.

The news coming shortly after Arnold Schwarzenegger had a successful open heart surgery. The surgery was last week, and he was just discharged from the hospital on Friday, April 6th. This seems like it may be part of the reason for the pushed back release date. Schwarzenegger is expected to reprise his iconic role as the Terminator, along with Linda Hamilton returning as Sarah Conner. Mackenzie Davis (The Martian/Blade Runner 2049) is in talks to star in the film alongside the two iconic actors.

What we do know about the film is that it is a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day. The film will introduce new characters to the franchise that will keep everything in motion. They also want a new and young female lead, this must be the role that Davis is in talks for. This is awesome for the franchise, it may cause continuity errors, but I’m sure they’ll fix those. We will see how these direct sequels from the original films work the next two years. Shane Black’s The Predator and David Gordon Green’s Halloween will also follow this same formula.

James Cameron will still be apart of the film as a producer. The original script was written by David S. Goyer (Krypton), Charles Eglee (Murder One), and Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds [2005]). The script is being reworked by Billy Ray (Secrets in Their Eyes). They want to create a Cloverfield like universe, but only a trilogy. They want each film to connect but also be able to stand as its own film. This would be incredible for the franchise, as the more recent films haven’t exactly been all that great.

The movie is expected to begin production this summer. The filming will be done in locations like Budapest, Spain, and Hungary. The film actually sounds like it’s going to be amazing. We will all see soon!

What do you guys think? Are you excited about another Terminator? Do you think it will be as great as the original films? Let us know in the comments or tweet us @SuperBroMovies!
