We are all awaiting for Infinity War to be released worldwide on April 26th. We are waiting for many reasons. For most of us, this has been a ten year journey filled with emotions from pure laughter to sadness. We have seen our favorite superheroes defeat the greatest of enemies. They will now be faced with their greatest foe, Thanos, the Mad Titan.
We know that there will be a film to follow, but we do not know the true title. All we know is that the film is titled Avengers 4. Many people speculated that we will see the title for the film after the credits for Infinity War. Sadly, it will be a while before we learn the true title of the film as the Russo Brothers discussed with Yahoo! Movies UK.
Joe Russo commented on the matter by saying:
“No, no. It’s going to be quite a long while before people see that title. We need people to see this movie, digest this movie, and then we can tell them what the next story is they’re going to see.”
So we’re not going to get some crazy post-credit scene that ends up being a movie preview like Captain America: First Avenger. He also speaks on Avengers 4 being a continuation of Infinity War. As we know, the films were originally titled Avengers: Infinity War Part I and Part II. These films are far different from one another though and here’s what he had to say about that:
“It’s a complete story. It’s got a beginning, middle and an end and the next movie has a beginning, middle and an end, in the same way that Civil War handed off to Infinity War and Infinity War will hand off to the next movie. It’s serialised storytelling without question so there is going to be a correlation, narratively, but we really wanted to make two distinct movies. We weren’t interested in making one long film and getting out the scissors and cutting the scissors and cutting it in half. We don’t find that a satisfying cinematic experience so this is a complete story, that’s a complete story, and they’re very different movies.
Avengers 4 will be the end of a very long Phase 3 in the MCU and mark the beginning of Phase 4. According to Anthony Russo, the difference between the phases will be “pretty drastic.” We’ve heard many rumors about Phase 4 and know that we are getting a Black Widow film soon. The Fox/Disney deal should be completed by next year, this would be amazing for Phase 4. There are so many things that could be added on to this new story. The Russo Brothers talked about the ten-year journey that is Phase 1-3, these were Joe’s comments on it:
“I think that this is if Marvel has been writing a book for ten years, it’s the end of the book and someone is going to write a new book. Who knows what that new book will be but this is an ending and that’ll be a new beginning.”
This has been an amazing book, and I’m sure we are all looking forward to the next one.
