There were many questions that needed to be answered following Civil War. Many of them we will see answered in Infinity War, but some of them we may not see answered until Ant-Man and the Wasp later this summer. This is part of the problem when creating a shared cinematic. You have to plan out several movies sometimes most of the time with different directors. All of the directors, writers, and producers must stay on the same page. Marvel has been able to do this for 10 years within the MCU.

Civil War isn’t a standalone film. The film exists within a cinematic universe that many of us have come to love. We have so many questions that we want to be answered asap. The thing is Marvel has two films releasing this year, and we will see the effects lasting over these two films. In an interview with Radio Times, the question of how will the effects of the aftermath of Civil War be seen in these two films was recently answered by Joe Russo:

Civil War has a big impact on everything that followed it, the events of Civil War. In that movie, there are characters who are on the wrong side of the U.S. government, and so the audiences will get to see how everyone responded to being on the wrong side and what decisions they made that allowed them to move forward in their lives.

We will see how the effects of Civil War affected most of these characters in Infinity War. Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, etc. we will see what they have all been up to since then. We’ve seen what Black Panther and Bucky have been up to. There is one character in particular that we want to know more about since Civil War ended, Ant-Man. In the trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp, Scott Lang has an ankle brace on. It looks like he traded his freedom for a somewhat regular life. He’s not the only character in his solo films that the government has it out for. It will be interesting to see how the after-effects of Civil War will develop in this film.

As we know, the Marvel films aren’t released in chronological order. So it’s interesting to see where Ant-Man and the Wasp fit in the MCU chronologically. The film is either before or after Infinity War, obviously. It seems as though the film immediately follows Civil War though same as Black Panther. The trailer doesn’t give me a post Infinity War vibe. We also haven’t seen Scott Lang in any of the Infinity War trailers. So, there are many many questions to be answered as to the film and how it will fit into the MCU.

What we can tell, is that Civil War is having a very lasting effect on the MCU. The film reshaped everything that we knew in the MCU. The team is broken apart because of it, and we will see how things shape out throughout the next 2 or 3 films. Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Avengers 4 will continue to show the ripple effect of Civil War. There’s a lot of excitement and anxiousness among us all, that hopefully gets answered soon.

What do you guys think? Do you like how Civil War has impacted the MCU? Do you think we will get all of our questions answered next week? Tweet us @SuperBroMovies and let us know your thoughts!
