We are a week away from the world premiere of the most anticipated Marvel movie of all time, Avengers: Infinity War. James Gunn had posted a meme on Twitter that his dad had sent him and thought it was funny to share with his fans. A Marvel fan had asked a question in the same tweet that the director of the first two Guardians of the Galaxy movies has now confirmed. The Russo Brothers, directors of the third Avengers film, will continue the tradition of having a post-credit scene during the credits of Infinity War.
James Gunn has seen the full movie and a post-credit scene of Infinity War. Now, it is unknown if there will be a second post-credit scene or not, but if you have seen Marvel’s latest films, there have always been two. I wouldn’t leave the theater early as these post-credit scenes could have big hints for the upcoming Marvel movies coming out after Infinity War. The post credit scene(s) could be related to Ant-Man and the Wasp, Avengers 4, or Captain Marvel.
It is almost certain that at least one of the post-credit scenes will be related to Avengers 4. Carol Danvers also known as Captain Marvel, played by Brie Larson, could be involved in that same scene. It was confirmed that Larson would not be appearing in the overall film, but I wouldn’t rule out Captain Marvel making her first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the post-credit scene. Talk about killing two birds with one stone. As we know, Ant-Man and the Wasp, coming out this July, and Captain Marvel comes out in 2019, both films will take place in the past. Ant-Man and the Wasp will take place after the events of Captain America: Civil War and Captain Marvel will take place in the 90’s. It is less likely, that they would play scene for movies that take place before Infinity War, but it is not impossible. Another scenario that could make a case for a post-credit scene is that it could take place right after the events of Infinity War. Lastly, it might be stretch, but I wouldn’t rule it out, Marvel could use this opportunity to make a namedrop or give a completely new character besides Danvers to make their introduction into the MCU.
Marvel fans and moviegoers, I would recommend staying through credits because post-credit scenes tend to be such good scenes that will get you excited for the next movie(s) that Marvel will bring to the big screen down the road. Sure, it may be short scenes, but they reveal a lot of stuff like easter eggs. Marvel loves doing easter eggs so keep your eyes out for any in the post-credit scene(s), even if it is the smallest easter egg there is.
