Ron Howard Says Early Reactions To ‘SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY’ Are Positive

Thought we were in trouble there for a second, but Ron Howard has assured us it’s fine. Still about a month away from the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, fans have been waiting to see just how good, if at all, the latest Star Wars spin-off really is. Reactions to trailers have been mostly positive, helping to beat back some of the negative press that’s swirled around the film since the original directors were fired mid-production and extensive reshoots began. Whether it’s great, awful, or just okay, Star Wars fans are likely to still turn out. But director Ron Howard himself thinks we needn’t be so wary.

When asked by a fan on Twitter to help him convince his wife to see the movie, Ron Howard had several reasons on hand, namely that it’s a good, fun movie. But don’t just take his word for it, take the word of test screeners as well.

Of course the director isn’t going to slander his own movie before it comes out, but the tweet certainly sounds genuine. It sounds like we should expect a fun summer action blockbuster with a solid emotional core. We’ll have to wait until the premiere and the subsequent lifting of the social media embargo to get other people’s raw reactions, but for now, why not have a little hope and believe Ron Howard?

Are you excited for Solo? Or are you more skeptical? Let us know in the comments or @SuperBroMovies.
