BITCH
Now that Avengers: Infinity War has finally been screened to the public and press just a couple of days before it’s worldwide premiere, we finally have our first reactions to the most anticipated blockbuster of the summer. After months of press interviews and people like the Russo Brothers and Kevin Feige teasing the film as a culmination of everything that came before, as well as supposedly one of the most compelling villains in the mad titan Thanos, Does the film live up to the hype? Check out some of the reactions on twitter below:
The general consensus and praise for the films seems to be towards it’s epic scope as well as the intensity that Thanos brings as a villain. Meanwhile, Kristan Harloff from Collider makes an interesting note of the story structure, saying that the film drops all rules that people usually expect from a marvel film.
Another comparison people are making to the film is it being the cinematic equivalent of a comic book crossover event. With so many characters in this film, it’s no surprise that it is akin to an actual comic book:
Another comparison that has been made is to the Russo’s previous Marvel film, Captain America: Civil War but just on a much bigger scale, and less hero on hero fighting and the Avengers on a more united front.
Another consistent note that some critics/audiences are making is the intensity and emotional stakes that are in the film, as seen by these reactions, it is clear that Avengers: Infinity War is going to be the most intense Marvel film yet:
From the looks of most of the reactions, Avengers: Infinity War seems like it has it all: emotion, humor, high stakes, and an amazing and thematic villain. Hearing the reception to how it balances out all the characters is fantastic and a relief to hear, as some were worried that There would be too many characters and some would get moved to the side or background of the story. Lastly, here is the reaction from our Editor in Chief Parker Batkins:
