There have been multiple releases of new information regarding Patty Jenkins’ sequel to Wonder Woman. With reports such as Kristen Wiig being cast as Cheetah, or Pedro Pascal being added on recently, it was evident that some more information was to be released at CinemaCon.
To begin the Con, there was an intro that included Aquaman, Shazam, and then some news broke on Wonder Woman 2. The first Wonder Woman was set during the events of WWI. This provided a unique atmosphere as there hadn’t been a wartime comic book movie since we saw Steve Rogers in his first solo film. This time around, the sequel to Wonder Woman will take place in the 1980s, says director Patty Jenkins.
The 1980s was indeed an interesting time, and it will be more interesting to see how Patty Jenkins involves Wonder Woman into it. Possibly it will have something to do with the Cold War? We won’t know that kind of information until the synopsis is released. In the mean time, all we can do is speculate and get more excited for what the DCU will do in the future.
