After the recent announcement that two Star Trek films are being developed, one presumably being Tarantino’s, it seems like the next one will be set after Beyond. What’s special about it is that a woman will be sitting in the director’s chair this time around, which is a first for Star Trek.
According to Variety, Jessica Jones S.J. Clarkson is in final talks to helm the fourth film in the recent Star Trek franchise from J.J Abrams. She’ll be making her theatrical debut with this after being involved in numerous television shows. The script is still being written by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay with Abrams set to produce.
The story is being kept under wraps but Chris Hemsworth is set to return as Kirk’s father, meaning a whole lot of time travel is involved. No word if the usual cast will also be returning ut one must assume at least the main stars. It’s taken a long time for a female director to helm a Star Trek film, so it’s about time.
