Avengers: Infinity War was released late last week and, well let’s say the world turned upside down. However, despite the shocking events of the film, Marvel Studios and its creative forces that be are showing absolutely no signs of slowing down.
While it has been known for quite some time that Disney has some untitled release dates lined up between now and 2022, fans were left with nothing but educated guesses regarding which films would be revealed to hold those release dates.
Today, on Facebook Live, James Gunn, writer and director for both Guardians of the Galaxy and its sequel, reveled his excitement that the third installment to his space-opera franchise would be coming two years from THIS WEEK.
You can watch the video for yourself below:
Previously, Disney announced its film slate for the next several years.
Among those dates was one that matches perfectly with what James Gunn is excited about in the video. May 1, 2020. This news confirms that, despite how gloomy things looked at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, whichever Guardians left standing after the two-year battle with Thanos will be returning to space to become THREE time galaxy-savers.
What do you think? Are you ready for a third space adventure with the plucky Guardians? Which team members do you think will be included? Will we get payoff for that Adam Warlock teaser a the end of Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2? Let us know in the comments below and @superbromovies.
