As soon as the action kicks off in the third Avengers film, fans are instantly notified that the danger is real and nobody is safe. If you’ve seen the mid-credits scene for 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, you’ve see Thano’s ship confronting the vessel carrying Thor, Loki, Hulk and the lucky Asgardians who survived Hela’s wrath during the events of the film. Even if you’ve not yet seen Avengers: Infinity War (WHAT?A WHY?!), you can probably guess that things do not go very well for the occupants of that Asgardian ship.
Joe Russo, one of the directors of the highly successful and controversial film, was recently invited for a Q&A at an Iowa High School, and the kids pulled no punches with the hard-hitting questions for him.
Among the many questions from the audience Russo actually answered, was a subtle confirmation that Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson, survived the attack by Thanos and the Black Order. While nothing is officially confirmed as of yet, Thompson has been very vocal about the idea of returning to the MCU in hopes that her character would be able to meet the other powerful women in the films.
Tessa Thompson herself even recently took to twitter to post a joke about her whereabouts during the War in Wakanda during the film’s third act.
As with everything else in the MCU, nothing is set in stone until it is, so take this news with a grain of salt, however, it is hard to believe that KEvin Feige would kill off a character who resonated with such a large portion of the audience during an off-screen scuffle with one of the children of Thanos.
What do you think? When will Valkyrie pop up again in the MCU? Could she come to Thor’s aid duirng Avengers 4? Sound off in the comments below and @superbromovies.
