The Russo Brothers did not disappoint with their recent release Avengers: Infinity War already reaching $1 billion dollars. Now while this movie included a large array of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, some minor and major characters didn’t get the chance to interact due to Thanos snatching and grabbing the Infinity Stones so quick. Two major characters that didn’t cross paths though were Steve Rogers aka Captain America and Tony Stark aka Iron Man. Since going their seperate ways in Civil War fans were anxious on how they would come together in when they were warned “THANOS IS COMING”.
Recently, co-writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely revealed that an initial draft of the Infinity War scritp did bring Steve and Tony back together during an interview with Yahoo Entertainment.
McFeely then went on to describe a scene that included both Captain America & Iron Man addressing their fall out from Civil War in a boardroom.
“Our first sort of wonky draft [had] the idea that they had to get back in the same room together and deal with that, [But it] meant that you’re slowing down your Thanos [Infinity] Stones [quest] to deal with other threats from other movies. And that became, as much as we wanted to do, and as many times as we wrote those scenes, it became clear that this movie needed to be propulsive and be about Thanos and what he represented to the Avengers.”
I realized after I saw the movie that they never spoke or saw each other the entire movie which made me wonder if in Avengers 4 the stakes will be higher. Its always awesome to see the two on screen together interacting but it seems like the Russo’s and Marvel have something planned that will soon pay off.
