With Avengers: Infinity War releasing recently, we now have the fourth installment coming in one year to look forward to.
The currently untitled film will take place after the events of Avengers: Infinity War as Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel will take place before the events of Infinity War.
In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, the directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, revealed that they have yet to edit the film. In fact, they have yet to finish filming, though they have the majority of the film already shot:
Joe and I always talk about it, there’s this filmmaking adage that goes, ‘You make a movie three times over: when you write it, when you shoot it, and when you edit it.’ And so, right now, we have not edited that movie at all. So we haven’t even gone through that whole phase of finding that film. Not only that, we haven’t even completely finished shooting it. We still have to shoot some stuff to complete the movie and even though we’ve shot the vast majority of it.
This means a trailer will not be coming for a little while:
We haven’t cut any of the film together yet. We’ll have to see. We’ll get it set for the next two or three months.
This means we likely won’t see the trailer for Avengers 4 before Ant-Man and the Wasp hits theaters. Although, this also means we will learn the title of the film in the next few months, whether it be during an announcement or in the trailer itself. The reason we still do not know the name of the fourth Avengers film is because it is a spoiler for Avengers: Infinity War, and now that the film is out, the likelihood of finding out the title increases by the day.
Set photos have also surfaced for Avengers 4 online and you can check them out here if you’re interested.
Avengers 4 will release in theaters on May 3, 2019.
There is no plot synopsis for the fourth Avengers movie yet.
