John is working again.
Principle photography has started on the set of the highly anticipated end to the John Wick trilogy. Dan Lauseten returns as the cinematographer for John Wick fresh off his first Oscar nomination for his work on The Shape of Water.
Lausten revealed the first set photos on his personal Instagram.
The first photo gives us a glimpse at John Wick in his classic triple black suit in what appears to be New York City. This also reveals that the third film will carry the same neon and black aesthetic that helped set the tone for the first two films.
The second photo reveals the working title of the movie as John Wick 3: Parabellum. In Latin, parabellum roughly translates to “prepare for war” which seems to be an allusion to John Wick’s inevitable clash with the council that was teased at the end of John Wick: Chapter 2.
These photos reveal just enough to ignite the fan base’s interest in the ending of John Wick’s story. It seems like only yesterday that John Wick struck fear in the heart of mobsters with just the mention of a pencil, but the story of Baba Yega seems to be coming to the epic end that Keanu Reeves’ iconic character deserves. –Taylor Tyler
