Peter Jackson Is Reportedly Deciding Between Boarding A DCU Film Or Working On Amazon’s ‘LOTR’ Series

Rumors have been swirling that a big-time director was being eyed for a DCU project. Most of it seemed speculatory, meaning that Warner Brothers could be eyeing a high-profile director but not that one was close to signing on. That was until The One Ring reported that Peter Jackson was deciding whether to tackle a DC film or to journey back to Middle-Earth and work on Amazon’s upcoming Lord of the Rings series.

Peter Jackson is, of course, the mastermind behind the Lord of the Rings films. The three movies, which were based on J. R. R. Tolkein’s series of novels, received critical acclaim, hundreds of awards and eventually spawned a prequel trilogy. Jackson stepped in last minute to direct The Hobbit trilogy, which fell flat due to a rushed production following Guillermo Del Toro’s exit.

Jackson hasn’t directed a movie since The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies back in 2014. He has an untitled World War 1 documentary set to release this year, although, with nothing else on his plate, the director seems to be weighing his options.

There’s was no information provided about what the DCU film is that Jackson is being eyed for. Fans have taken it upon themselves to voice their opinions with the majority saying he should helm Green Lantern Corps. It was reported at one time that Christopher Mcquarrie was in talks to direct the film, though nothing was officially announced.
