Marvel’s next move after Infinity War is to get… smaller.
The next installment of the Marvel Universe comes out July 6th, but we’re just now getting our first look at Michelle Pfeiffer’s Janet van Dyne. Pfeiffer is remembered by most comic book movie fans for her portrayal of Catwoman in Batman Returns, but she will be suiting up as the original Wasp and Hank Pym’s partner in the days of his Ant-Man.
Her suit in bears a striking resemblance to Ant-Man’s suit with a few minor differences like the piece on the back for her wings. With the red dots around her helmet and the stunt harness, this photo appears to depict a flashback to an action scene with the original Wasp in her prime.
This story is set to take place just before the events of Infinity War. Ghost, the main villain, has stolen Hank Pym’s Quantum Realm technology forcing he and Hope van Dyne, the new Wasp, to pull Scott Lang out of house arrest to get it back.
Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, thought he had lost Janet in the Quantum Realm that was briefly shown in the first Ant-Man. However, it appears that she was not lost forever. The first Ant-Man only briefly introduced the Quantum Realm, but it will play a much bigger part in this story and possibly even in Marvel’s upcoming Avengers 4.
