David F. Sandberg took to Twitter yesterday to confirm that Shazam! has wrapped shooting.
You can check out the tweet below:
This should come as no surprise, seeing as Asher Angel, finished filming his scenes recently, posting about it on Twitter:
Now that production has wrapped, the film will enter post-production, where the editing happens. This means a trailer will be coming at some point during that time, but not until after the first trailer for Aquaman drops because Shazam! is releasing in theaters after Aquaman. We still will not see the trailer for a little while, seeing as Shazam! is coming in April. Aquaman‘s trailer could be shown at San Diego Comic-Con.
Little is known about the plot of the film, but several cast members have been added who may be playing the entire Marvel Family (or Shazam family). Mark Strong will be playing the villain Dr. Sivana.
Shazam is a superhero, originally called Captain Marvel in the comics (now called Shazam to avoid confusion with Marvel’s Captain Marvel played by Brie Larson), who has the “genius of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the unbreakable will of Atlas, the lightning blasts of Zeus, the power of Achilles and the speed of Mercury.” His comics often deal with magic and his recent Geoff Johns run is highly regarded.
