Star Wars Audition Tape Suggests That GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN Will Appear In The KENOBI Spinoff

One of the most iconic characters in Star Wars isn’t even one that has made an appearance in any of the movies. Grand Admiral Thrawn was a part of the non-canonical Star Wars Legends until he made his debut on the small screen in Season 3 of Star Wars: Rebels. The character is revered for his chilling demeanor and calculated plans for the Empire, and it looks like he could finally be making his long-awaited live-action appearance in the highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi spinoff.

A video of the British actor Adam Templar has surfaced on the internet, and in it, he auditions for the role of Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Commander Farrow, I fear you worry far too much, let us just apply a little reasoning to our situition.

If I were Master Shakaar, where would I hide?

We know our Jedi is a man of solitude, nature, peace, comfort in these things he would find. So it is wise to deduce that a location of this sort would be of much interest to him, yes?

Okay, so the 132 worlds in this quadrant we can now narrow that down to a much smaller 28.

He would also try to avoid the established urban worlds as most of them are now under the command of the Empire. Hmmm..

Nature, peace, hmmm…

Commander, set the coordinates for the penal system we leave here dearly. Oh, and, umm, alert Lord Vader. The noose is tied and set.

It is time to catch a Jedi.

While his name isn’t specifically spoken, the Jedi in question is more than likely Obi-Wan Kenobi. With the film likely being set between Episodes 3 and 4, we would see Kenobi in hiding, so it would make sense for the Darth Vader and the Empire to be hunting him down.

While this is a very convincing audition tape, and the actor gives a phenomenal performance, there is no way to test its validity, so for now, this should be taken with a grain of salt.

Would you be excited to see Grand Admiral Thrawn in the Kenobi spinoff? Let us know on Twitter @SuperBroMovies.

UPDATE: The actor in the audition tape has clarified that it was for a fan film. While it sounds like a great idea, we likely won’t get to see Grand Admiral Thrawn alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi after all.
