‪‘Dark Phoenix’ Director Simon Kinberg Set To Co-Write & Produce ‘BOBA FETT’ ‬

Recently, it was confirmed that Logan director James Mangold will write and direct the Boba Fett spinoff movie, which centers on the titular bounty hunter from the Star Wars series. It turns out that Mangold will not be the only screenwriter involved with the film. According to an update from Heat Vision editor Aaron Couch, Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg will serve as the film’s co-writer as well as one of the producers.

There has been a rumor that Kinberg, the writer/producer behind the X-Men film franchise, was working on a Boba Fett film, though no confirmation was made at the time it began spreading. Therefore, this update confirms those rumors to be true. This will not be the first time that Kinberg and Mangold have worked together since they previously collaborated on Logan. In addition, this movie is one of several upcoming titles produced by Lucasfilm that will further develop certain Star Wars characters.

Boba Fett will be another glimpse into the fan favorite character, seeing as George Lucas’s Prequel Trilogy revealed his origin and other forms of media have shown him on his bounty hunting missions. Although plot details for the movie are a mystery at the moment, it is likely that the story will cover similar territory as the Expanded Universe books and video games.

What do you think about Kinberg being brought on as a co-writer and producer for Boba Fett? Be sure to tweet your thoughts at @superbromovies and stay tuned for more Boba Fett news.
