As we all know Avengers: Infinity War saw the deaths of many of the MCU’s heroes in the wake of Thanos’ snap. While we know some of these deaths are bound to be undone such as Spider-Man and Black Panther who all have confirmed sequels. A few characters’ statuses are less easy to read such as many Guardians of the Galaxy. While we know there is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 we did not know who would survive to be in it. But now thanks to Dave Bautista we know one Guardian who will be returning.
In a recent interview with Collider Bautista confirmed that he will be returning as Drax in Avengers 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Bautista was discussing how after Avengers: Infinity War he saw many reactions to Drax’s death and what he had to tell everyone,
“I got a lot of texts saying, ‘I can’t believe you’re dead, your character is dead. They were really like heartbroken and I was like ‘I’m gonna be in [Avengers] 4. I’m gonna be in Guardians 3.’”
It seems that Bautista has now joined the ranks of Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo who are also known for dropping major spoilers for their movies. Drax is thus far the only character officially confirmed to survive Avengers 4 and the second character confirmed for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as Karen Gillan has previously mentioned involvement in films after next years Avengers film.
Hopefully, Drax will be joined by his fellow Guardians as it has been stated that the third Guardians will be the last one to feature its current lineup. So for the sake of many fans, most of the Guardians will make it out of Avengers 4 alive.
Avengers 4 will release in theaters on May 3, 2019.
A culmination of 22 interconnected films, the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.
