Helena Bonham Carter Eyed For Villain Role In ‘Bond 25’

Helena Bonham Carter, known for her iconic roles in Fight Club and Sweeny Todd, may be joining the cast of Bond 25 as 007’s next villain.

After showing plenty of menace as Bellitrix Lestrange in the wildly successful Harry Potter series, it’s easy to see why the producers of Bond 25 could see her as the next great Bond villain. With amazing performances by Javier Bardem, Mads Mikkelson, and Christoph Waltz as Bond villains, the next film has some very big shoes to fill but Helena Bonham Carter is more than capable of delivering.

Rumors have circulated that Angelina Jolie is also being considered for the villain in Bond 25 now that Daniel Craig has agreed to reprise his role as 007. The cast is currently being finalized and should be released soon. The only other cast members that seem likely to reprise their roles for the next film are Ben Whisaw as Q, Naomi Harris as Eve Moneypenny, and Rory Kinnear as MI6’s agent Tanner.

Bond 25 is sparing no expense for what could be Daniel Craig’s last time to ask for his martini shaken not stirred as the film is building an impressive Oscar pedigree with director Danny Boyle, won best direction for Slumdog Millionaire, and screenwriter John Hodge, best adapted screenplay nominee for Trainspotting, already on board to bring Daniel Craig’s James Bond to life once again.

Very few details have been released about the film, but that hasn’t stopped the hype from building around the next installment in the James Bond franchise. The highly anticipated film is scheduled for release November 8, 2019 and could be a very successful film as the series has grossed over $3.1 billion at the international box office with Skyfall breaking $1.1 billion on its own.

If 007 was right then we may just be in for the best Bond film we’ve seen. Daniel Craig brought MI6’s greatest spy to an entirely new audience over the past 13 years, and Bond 25 seems to be the culmination of all of his work. Here’s to you Mr. Bond.
