The Guardians of the Galaxy movies have been some of the best movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Naturally, fans of the franchise were curious to see where director and writer James Gunn is at with the script. Gunn was very kind to answer fans’ questions on Facebook and Twitter.
One fan on Twitter was interested in how long a Guardians movie would take to film.
Gunn also answered another fan’s question, regarding other Marvel characters joining the Guardians and possibly replacing Groot, on Facebook in the comment section of his post below.
“We don’t own Venom. I can add anyone Marvel owns, but I’ve already chosen the characters.”
Whenever a new character joins the universe, especially a superhero, is always exciting and welcoming. I am looking forward to seeing who will fit in well in the Marvel Cosmic Universe and who will play them.
Another Facebook fan asked about the progress for the music track list for the Vol. 3.“I’m more than a year into the process, so the script is far along. For many many months I first write the treatment which is 80 pages or so with photographs. That turns into GotG. I’m now rewriting and making sure my rough draft works.”
The music track list have played a crucial role in making the Guardians movies popular fan favorites in the MCU. Whatever songs Gunn and his team chooses, I am sure it will be big hits in Vol.3.
Gunn also said that there is no need for fans to ask if any of the Fox Marvel characters are involved in Vol. 3 because it’s not possible due to the impending deal between Disney and Fox, which could be done by summer 2019.
“Not gonna happen in any major way. Too far along.”
Lastly, after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, Gunn teased that Guardians team will be in a very different place after fighting Thanos.
“It’s very, very, very different, but I won’t say how! You’ll have to wait to see the movie, it’s a long time away.”
Very exciting updates for the third film of the Guardians franchise! Like many fans, I was thrilled with the first two Guardians movies and looking forward to Vol. 3 when it comes out in theaters in 2020!
