Donald Glover’s ‘ATLANTA’ Renewed For Third Season On FX

Looks like anything the artist known as Childish Gambino touches turns to gold these days as FX has ordered another season of the critically acclaimed show ‘Atlanta’, created and written by its star Donald Glover.

Fresh off his show-stealing take on the classic Star Wars character Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story and his powerful single “This Is America” going platinum, the Grammy, Emmy, and Golden Globe winning actor, rapper, comedian, singer, and writer is continuing his run at the top of the FX heap with another season of storytelling on the way.

‘Atlanta’s’ first season won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, two Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy and Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy, along with a bevy of other accolades ad achievements.

Its second season ‘Atlanta Robbin’ Season,’ is already a front-runner for the 2019 Awards season.

Nick Grad, one of the network’s presidents of original programming had this to say regarding the network’s excitement for the future of ‘Atlanta.’

“Atlanta is phenomenal, achieving and exceeding what few television series have done. With Atlanta Robbin’ Season, Donald and his collaborators elevated the series to even greater heights, building on the enormous success of their award-winning first season.”
