Filming is just underway for the hotly anticipated sequel to Wonder Woman. Geoff Johns hinted last week that the title and/or setting would involve the mid-80’s. This would be in keeping with setting Diana in turbulent times through modern history and Patty Jenkins comments that the movie would go to America. Today, the first set photos have crept online highlighting the aesthetic of the movie and its’ era.
The locations, Virginia and Washington DC, on the license plates are realistic with the setting. The mention of Landmark Mall also lends credibility as that was one of the shooting locations reported months ago. What Diana or other members of the cast are doing in DC at this time is still unclear. It is great to see Wonder Woman be in America but she is most likely trying to prevent a threat to the whole world. What do you think of the era and aesthetic the movie is going for?
