Matt Reeves’ ‘BATMAN’ Film Will Focus On Younger Batman; Ben Affleck Not Likely To Return

The solo films for the DCEU have been in rumor hell the past few months. Whether it’s the Flash or Batman, both of these films have been riddled with speculation. Now we have a little more confirmation on the Batman solo film, and honestly, it sounds awesome.

Over Memorial Day weekend, Matt Reeves turned in the first act of his screenplay for his film. The movie will supposedly focus on a younger Batman. Pretty broad, I know, but the idea of a young Batman is thrilling to me. Due to this, it is unlikely that we’ll see Ben Affleck reprise the role for he has the look of a much more aged Bruce Wayne. I could be wrong though! The studio has refrained on commenting on whether or not Affleck will return.

Matt Reeves has an insane amount of potential to make one of the best Batman films. With a filmography spanning from War For the Planet of the Apes, to Cloverfield, his style is beautifully violent. I for one, am extremely excited to see what he does with one of the most loved comic book characters ever.

For now, we will have to wait for anymore news. In the mean time I would love to know who you’d want to play the Caped Crusader if Affleck were to not return! Let us know your choices and thoughts over at SuperBroMovies! – JB Baker
