Character Descriptions Released For Todd Phillips’ ‘JOKER’ Film; Robert DeNiro Being Eyed For Role

In the recent weeks we’ve gotten more and more news regarding the Joker solo film being directed by Todd Phillips. With none of that news including casting decisions, we may have just taken a step in the right direction. All we know is that Joaquin Phoenix is rumored to play the iconic role of the Joker himself.

As of today, there is now a list of character details, spanning across all ages. This film is supposedly going a whole different direction with the Joker, one that is separate from DC Comics as a whole. This means Phillips could essentially do whatever he wanted with the character. Anyways, let’s take a look at the character descriptions below.

The list sure does raise many questions. One intriguing fact is that the studio is eyeing Robert DeNiro for one of those roles, that role being Murray Franklin. Said to be the most significant supporting role, DeNiro in a Joker film at all is enough for me to buy a ticket. Also, Martin Scorsese is co-producing film, only making DeNiro’s inclusion more likely. One thing that should be noted though, is that DeNiro is not confirmed, but neither is Phoenix as the Joker. This is all up in the air still, but if it rings true, it’ll likely be soon when we get an official announcement.

For now we will just have to cross our fingers and hope this all comes true. With a production date beginning in September, a flurry of news could come at any moment. It sounds like we’re in for a real treat just judging from the descriptions. Now, who do you want to see play some of these roles? Let us know your thoughts over at SuperBroMovies! – JB Baker
