Cowabunga brahs! The ‘Heroes in a Half Shell’ are looking to make their cinematic return. Paramount has hired Andrew Dodge to write the script for the new film. Michael Bay returns to produce the film through his company, Platinum Dunes.

Dodge’s only writing credit to date is the Jason Bateman lead comedy Bad Words. He has also been at work writing the long-gestating Space Jam sequel. He appears to be making a career for himself in reviving popular 90’s franchises.

Paramount has produced two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films already, the 2014 film of the same name and the 2016 sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

No word yet on whether this will continue with the current franchise or reboot it altogether. With Bay returning to produce it’s safe to assume it’ll be a continuation but after disappointing returns on Out of the Shadows, it wouldn’t be surprising if they rebooted the franchise once again.
