Lucasfilm Shuts Down Cancelled STAR WARS Story Film Rumors; Confirms Multiple Films In Development

It was recently reported that Disney was planning to put all of the Star Wars story films on hold to focus on the bigger projects. This was a blow for the Star Wars fans, but it made sense with how Solo ended up doing. Where it hurt most was the fact that the Obi-Wan movie was paused. However, these rumors were denied, by the people that matter most.

Films like Rogue One, and Solo, provide a unique experience into the world of Star Wars as they standalone as their own entities. The idea of them being cancelled for the time-being was a bit sad, and very speculative. These reports came from Lucasfilm sources that were deemed inaccurate. This is when Lucasfilm stepped in to get the story straight.

ABC News got in contact with Lucasfilm where they stated that there are multiple Star Wars films slated to release. Although unannounced, these films are in development and have no signs of stopping. These are the films that aren’t Rian Johnson’s future trilogy or the Game of Thrones producer’s David Benioff and D.B. Weiss future works either. Thrilling is a pretty good word to use to express my feelings towards this news. The standalone films are a great things for Star Wars.

So as it seems, the world will still be doused in plenty of Star Wars fun. I’m still waiting for them to confirm the Obi-Wan movie is happening, wouldn’t that be amazing? Lucasfilm did the right thing by shutting these rumors down as quickly as possible. What are your thoughts on the story films? Are you excited to see more?
