The untitled fourth Avengers film has been teased as the grand finale for many characters and storylines in the MCU, and what happens after that is anyone’s guess. Infinity War’s ending left moviegoers in a state of shock last month, and Avengers 4 will likely do the same. Still, what happens when it’s all said and done? In an exclusive with ComicBook, Kevin Feige sheds some light on the MCU’s future post Avengers 4.

During a press event for Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, Feige was asked whether or not Marvel Studios plans to build up to another Infinity War level movie event.

“It’s one film at a time. Between Captain Marvel finishing in two weeks, Spider-Man starting in two weeks, Avengers 4 post getting underway right now, releasing this movie… That’s keeping us busy over the next year.”

Feige goes on to say that in terms of what to expect, fans should look no further than the Marvel comics themselves. “The plan going forward is gonna be about making great films, as good a film as we can, one after another,” said Feige. “How they connect, how they build up, it all goes back to the comics. Comics has done a good job. Infinity War was just one mega event in the comics in the history of mega events. So, who knows.”

Surprisingly, Marvel Studios will pass on this year’s San Diego Comic Con, but Feige assures that his marketing team are developing some advertising tactics as we speak. “Marketing’s coming up with all sorts of things. How to debut Captain Marvel, lots of opportunities for fun, exciting stuff coming up. And after Avengers 4, being less cagey about it.”
