As the MCU has continued to grow and expand we are seeing more and more heroes enter the fray. And while this is great for fans of characters like Doctor Strange and Black Panther it can be a bit annoying when you have to wait forever for a sequel centering on your favorite character. And for one such character, this is very true, Doctor Strange. Fans of the character loved the first film but for some time there has been no announcement of a sequel, until now.
During a recent interview with Cinemablend, Kevin Feige confirmed that a sequel to Doctor Strange will be happening:
“Sometimes it’s where do those characters pop up? [Doctor] Strange, you know, whenever we do another Strange one, which we will do, it will be a number of years from the first Strange, and yet he’s a very big part of [Avengers:] Infinity War. So it is just a good problem to have when you have too many beloved characters that people want to see more of, whilst keeping to our core belief that we need to keep exploring nuance and keep doing different types of things.”
For fans of Doctor Strange, this is great news as we will finally get to see the character out on his own again. It was great seeing Strange in Avengers: Infinity War as he was one of the most powerful characters featured. And while this is only our first time hearing confirmation about the movie we have previously heard from the writer of Doctor Strange what a sequel would feature.
So while as of now we don’t know when this movie will be released it is still great to see it is on the way.
