Only last week it was reported that Jeremy Renner could possibly have a role in Todd McFarlane’s Spawn reboot. As for which role that would be, no one knew until today. The role that Renner would be playing in Spawn is for the film’s lead, Twitch Williams.
Renner joining Spawn would mean he’d star alongside none other than Jamie Foxx, who was confirmed last month to play Spawn. ThatHashtagShow has been adamant on news regarding Spawn, having been the first to report on Foxx’s involvement, as well as Twitch being the film’s lead. Renner and Foxx are already familiar with each other after Foxx interviewed him on his mini-series, so them starring alongside together seems fitting. Check out the fun back and forth between the two here.
Renner also fits the bill for the casting call perfectly. Todd McFarlane and Spawn’s production company, Blumhouse, were looking for a 40-50 year old male. From the start, Renner was on their radar, and after this news, I’m sure we’ll get confirmation on whether or not he’ll star in the movie soon.
In the mean time, you can see Renner on the big screen right now as he stars in Tag, and next year we may see him in Infinity War’s sequel. What are your thoughts on Jeremy Renner playing Twitch in Spawn’s reboot? Let us know your thoughts over at SuperBroMovies! – JB Baker
