‘BATWOMAN’ Series Is In Development At The CW

After the success of previous Arrowverse shows, The CW is looking to expand their repertoire of DC shows by giving Batwoman her own show.

After being introduced to the for the first time in a live-action medium during this year’s annual Arrowverse crossover event in December, Batwoman will be getting her own solo series from the mind of Greg Berlanti and Caroline Dries, who have previous success with shows like ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and  ‘The Flash.’

The series will revolve around Kate Kane, an out lesbian who will have the passion for social justice and ability to protect the streets of Gotham due to her intricate martial arts training.

Dries is set to write the script and and serve as the executive producer for the series while Berlanti, along with Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns, will produce and look to cast the role of Kate in the near future.

With the overwhelming success of the Arrowverse, and recent DC addition ‘Black Lightning,’ it isn’t surpising to see the creative forces dive deeper into the DC Comics lore at their immediate disposal.
