The¬†Stranger Things actor posted the short teaser, showing her using what appears to be a radio transmitter in a broadcasting room. She asks if anyone is there and then says she is trying to “reach monarch.” This is then followed by the sound of static, mostly incomprehensible words, and some sirens. These sounds lead her to seemingly curl up in what seems to be fear. The video ends with the same words she used earlier: “Reach Monarch” on the screen, the words also used in her caption.

These words are obviously important, but we will have to wait and see exactly why.

Millie Bobby Brown will be joined by Vera Farmiga, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, and more.¬†Godzilla: King of Monsters is directed by Michael Dougherty and written by Max Borenstein, Michael Dougherty, Ishir√ī Honda, Shigeru Kayama, Takeo Murata, and Zach Shields.

The film is a direct sequel to 2014’s Godzilla,¬†which starred Bryan Cranston, Aaron-Taylor Johnston, Sally Hawkins, Ken Watanabe, and Elizabeth Olsen. It was directed by Gareth Edwards.

Not much has been revealed of the sequel yet, besides the teaser and this official first look photo, courtesy of EW:

The only other information left known is from the plot synopsis:

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species ‚Äď thought to be mere myths ‚Äď rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah are all Kaiju monsters that have battled Godzilla in the past.

With San Diego Comic-Con coming up this weekend, fans are very likely to get more information, including a full trailer.
