Supergirl is entering its fourth season. The production has recently begun, and a new character has been added to the show. Sam Witwer has been cast as a series regular on the show.
Witwer will play Agent Liberty. Created by Dan Jurgens, Agent Liberty first appeared in DC Comics Superman Vol. 2 #60 in October of 1991. He was also a member of the Justice League for sometime after Superman’s death.
Sam Witwer has voiced Darth Maul and a few other characters in the Star Wars cartoons Clone Wars and Rebels. He’s also played Doomsday in CW’s Smallville. He isn’t new to the comic book genre or playing some pretty big roles on television. He also voiced Ocean Master in DC’s Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. There’s definitely a relationship between Witwer and DC that continues to work in new ways.
It will be very interesting to see how Agent Liberty fits into the series this season. His appearance also raises a few questions. What happens with Superman this season? Does he join the Justice League of America? His introduction could bring a few things into play from the comics. We will soon see how things play out for the Arrowverse and Supergirl!
