We are coming closer and closer to having our second installment of Zombieland. We know that the second film comes out October 11, 2019. The film starts production in January 2019. The new synopsis for the film has been obtained and it’s pretty interesting.
The new film will be released ten years after the original. The new synopsis for the film tells us that the cast will travel to Washington, D.C. and that the zombies will be evolved. You can read the whole synopsis here:
“Through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.”
The film will see the original cast of Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin return. Ruben Fleischer is returning as director. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will be penning the script. Gavin Polone will produce the film, along with Reese, and Wernick will be executive producing.
It will be interesting to see the journey the group takes. The evolution of the zombies also sounds interesting. We’ve seen films examine this aspect of zombies with the Resident Evil franchise and Warm Bodies. The popularity of the zombie film will definitely rise again when this film comes out next year.
