Nathan Fillion Is Open to Joining the DC Universe As Booster Gold

Screenrant got an opportunity to catch up with Nathan Fillion while at San Diego Comic-Con 2018. Fillion was then asked if he was willing to consider throwing his name in the hat officially for the role of DC Comics superhero, Booster Gold, after fans nominated him as a choice on their wishlist.

“I heard that. He’s a great character. Am I vying for the role? And do I want an internet thing to go crazy? No, I don’t want that to happen. Do I think it’s a great role? Yes. Would I do an amazing job… I like to think that I would… I like to think that I would. I like to think I would. He’s a great character. He’s such a doofus. I could do that.”

Fillion has been involved in numerous discussions for different kinds of superhero roles with the likes of Green Lantern and Nathan Drake from the video game, Uncharted. Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland already landed the role so Fillion’s next opportunity in the superhero community could possibly be Booster Gold.

Warner Bros. is currently working with Greg Berlanti, the executive producer behind the Arrowverse on the CW channel, on developing a Booster Gold movie. Thor writer Zack Stentz is teaming up with Berlanti on writing the script. Berlanti is set to produce it, but might also get the opportunity to direct it.

Fillion is best known for his work on TV shows, Castle and Firefly, where he has always delivered the comedic timing. Fillion would a great and fun choice to play Michael Jon Carter as Booster Gold, but only time will tell if he is destined to play the DC Comics superhero.
