‘GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY’ Star Dave Bautista Responds To The Firing Of James Gunn

Yesterday the internet was left shocked following the firing of Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn after controversial tweets were unsurfaced. A flood of both support and disappointment was targeted at Gunn. However, the biggest question was how the cast of the hit Marvel films would respond. The first actor to speak out was Drax actor Dave Bautista who took to Twitter to defend the director.

Bautista made it very clear about how he felt about the situation in his statement:

I will have more to say but for right now all I will say is this..James Gunn is one of the most loving, caring, good natured people I have ever met. He’s gentle and kind and cares deeply for people and animals. He’s made mistakes. We all have. Im NOT ok with what’s happening to him

Gunn was an advocate for Bautista during the audition process of Guardians of the Galaxy, probably being the main reason the former WWE star landed the role. They have formed what seems like a strong bond over the filming of the first two Guardians film.

We have also seen James’ brother Sean, who plays Kraglin in the GOTG films, come to his brother’s defense. Retweeting things aimed at supporting James following his controversial firing. We have yet to hear from stars Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was set to begin production sometime next year with Gunn’s script already being complete. It’s unknown if this development will delay production of the film. –Jackson Hayes
