Charlie has found his new Angels. Director Elizabeth Banks announces her three leads, who will be playing Bosley and hints at where the movie will be going. The new Angels are Kristen Stewart (Twilight), Ella Balinska (Tiers of the Tropics), and Naomi Scott (Power Rangers).
With the announcement of the new Angels also comes word that Banks herself will be playing Bosley, the middle (wo)man to Charlie Townsend. The new story takes the detective agency of the original television series and turns it into a global organization. There will now be teams of Angles working all over the world for the Townsend Agency with the movie focusing on one particular team.
Banks had this to say about the project:
“Charlie’s Angels, for me, is one of the original brands to celebrate the empowered woman since its debut in the ’70s,” said Banks in a statement. “This film honors the legacy of Charles Townsend and his agency while introducing a new era of modern and global Angels. I couldn’t be more excited to work with Kristen, Naomi and Ella to bring this chapter to fans around the world.”
As well as directing and co-starring, Banks also wrote the latest draft along with Jay Basu.
