Of all the great character dynamics in the MCU, perhaps the most beloved is the bond between Tony Stark and Peter Parker. From the moment they met in Captain America: Civil War, you got the sense that there’d be great things happening in the duo’s future, and you’d be right. Their bond blossomed even more in Spider-Man: Homecoming, with and RDJ’s armored Avenger even offering up a brand new high tech suit to the famous wall-crawler, which he finally donned in Avengers: Infinity War. Now, thanks to some recently released concept art, we’ve got a brand new look at what could have been for the fan favorite Iron Spider suit.
Courtesy of concept artist Ed Natividad, a more comic accurate rendering of Tony Stark’s take on the Web Head’s iconic costume can be glimpsed below.
As you can see, this version of the suit bears a much closer resemblance to the one seen in Marvel’s Civil War comic event, where it made its debut back in 2006. Though the one seen on screen is still a beautiful piece of comic book eye candy, there are probably some who had hoped for a more faithful depiction in film.
Ed Natividad’s version sports Iron Man’s signature red and gold color scheme, and also includes the six spider legs on the suit’s exterior at all times, unlike the final product. The one we ended up getting still looks wonderful, but it is nice to know Marvel at least once considered going for the more comic accurate look fans know and love.

He also tries to return to his normal daily routine — distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just a friendly neighborhood superhero.
