Quite unexpectedly, Disney dropped the official cast list for Episode 9 on the offical Star Wars site today. The breakdown highlights returning members such as Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, and Kelly Marie Tran. The site went on to name veteran Star Wars actors Mark Hamill and newly returned Billy Dee Williams. The biggest shock of all is the news that Carrie Fisher will also appear in the film.

The official site explains that Leia will return using unreleased footage from Star Wars: The Force Awakens complete her part. About this method, J.J. Abrams had this to say:

“We desperately loved Carrie Fisher. Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII.”
