In a movie full of surprises, one of the more iconic moments in Avengers: Infinity War was the return of the Red Skull. We hadn’t seen the villain in seven years since he was mysteriously transported into space at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger. What at first seemed like an incredible fan service moment may actually be a tease for things to come.
The directors of Infinity War, the Russo Brothers, hosted a watch party for their film last night and took the time to answer fan questions via the official Avengers twitter account. One user decided to ask the directors about the fate of Red Skull following Thanos’ acquisition of the Soul Stone:
It’s unknown if Red Skull will play any kind of role in Avengers 4, although, with time travel possibly being in play, we could see the Avengers journey to Vormir at some point in the film. Or it’s entirely possible that the villain does, in fact, leave the planet and could play a role in the future of the MCU.
