So far this year, we’ve received Jessica Jones and Luke Cage from the Marvel/Netflix series following the team-up series The Defenders. We also know Iron Fist has a second Season coming on September 7th and Daredevil Season 3 will release sometime afterward. So, with all that information out, it begs the question, what about Season 2 of The Punisher?
The Punisher Season 2 will premiere around March 2019. The new season is already in production and shooting in New York. This would make sense considering Iron Fist and Daredevil are releasing in the fall. Casting announcements for new characters, the main villain, etc. still haven’t been revealed. I’m sure we’ll get more things between now and the release. This is very exciting considering all of the events that have transpired between The Defenders and now.
A few of the other Marvel-Netflix shows have had season premieres around the same time. We just all should be ready for a new season of The Punisher by the beginning of the year. There were so many things tackled in the first season of The Punisher from domestic terrorism to government surveillance of civilians. It’ll be interesting to see how things are dealt with in Season 2.
